Автор релиза «Мимоза» Костя Кококей является сооснователем лейбла «Местность» – уникального издательства. «Местность» пропускает музыкантов и их работы через сито локальной культуры, в которой те выросли. Для него контекст – такая же часть замысла любой музыкальной работы, как авторский взгляд, набор семплов и синтезаторов, используемых при записи.
Релиз записан в отдаленной южной деревушке. Свежая картинка дала Косте новый импульс, который на время сменил московское Беляево с его концептуалистской историей на чистую, холмистую красоту южного края. Поездка из одной местности в другую была предпринята Костей в поиске самого себя, это был процесс конвертации в духовность и попытка расстаться со своим эго для того, чтобы увидеть мир, вещи, действительность саму по себе и раствориться в настоящем видении жизни как таковой.
«Я пытался записать музыку такой, чтобы она не была похожей на чью-то, отпустить желание понравиться многим, хотя это было сложно», – рассказывает автор. Пять треков релиза «Мимоза» станут первой частью трилогии, посвященной нашему пребыванию в реальности и попытке переживания красоты без давления личности. Работа написана с уклоном в лоу-фай хаус, остальные две части будут звучать в духе IDM и эмбиента. При записи треков Костя использовал звуки, собранные им «в полях», звуки местного быта и природы, прошедшие эйсид-конвертацию через басовый синтезатор Roland TB-03.
«Мимоза» – не просто саундтрек для декораций мира, она меняет взгляд на них вместе с переживанием простой, не затронутой человеческим смыслом красоты, которая возникает где-то между ломаным битом, реверберациями «роланда» и лучом солнца, пробивающимся между ставен деревенского домика.
The author of the Mimoza release Kostya Kokokei is also a co-founder of the Mestnost label, a one-of-a-kind publishing company. Mestnost passes the musicians and their work through a sieve of local culture, in which they grew up. For him, the context is as much a part of the idea of any music peace as the author's vision or a set of samples and synthesizers used during the recording process.
The release was recorded in a remote southern village. The undisturbed and unspoiled scenery reenergized Kostya, who left the Belyaevo district of Moscow with its conceptualist history and opted to spend some time in the country’s southern region among its beautiful pristine hills. Kostya went from one trip to another in an attempt to find himself. It was a process of diving deep into spirituality, leaving all the worldly stuff behind and attempting to part with his ego in order to see the world, things, the reality itself in a different light and lose himself in this real vision of life.
“I tried to record music in such a way that it would not resemble someone else’s music. I tried to let go of the desire to please as many people as possible, although, I have to say, it was hard,” admitted the author. The five tracks of the Mimosa release will be the first part of a trilogy dedicated to being fully aware and present in the here and now and an attempt to experience beauty without the pressure of our personal identities. The work has strong lo-fi house vibes. The other two parts were made in keeping with the spirit of IDM and ambient. When recording tracks, Kostya used the sounds he collected “in the fields”, the sounds of local life and nature, which later underwent an acid-conversion on a Roland TB-03 bass synthesizer.
“Mimosa” is not just a soundtrack to complement the world’s scenery pieces. It not only changes the way you look at them, but also allows you to live through and experience the simple, unpretentious and savage beauty not yet marred by humans, which can be felt somewhere between the broken beats, “Roland” reverberations and a ray of sunshine breaking through between the shutters of a village house.
